Shandor of Orcas Island

Once in a lifetime an opportunity is put before us that can change our lives forever.
The first time my eyes feasted on the magnificent stallion, Chance du Vallon, two time Grand Champion of France, I knew my breeding program could never be complete without infusing his blood into my select group of Gypsy Vanner mares. When I visited Chance and his owner Corinne Eisele in France, not only was I impressed with his demeanor, but he moved extremely well, was 14.3 h and his braided mane hung past his knees!
And then I saw him. One of the most striking Gypsy horses I had ever seen! A deep chestnut stud colt with copious amounts of flaxen mane, tail and feathers and the kindest eye on a most chiseled head. A son of Chance du Vallon! Shandor (which means proud in Romany) is now on U.S. turf and will be a part of our breeding program. Shandor was born May 28, 2005, was already 14 hands at eighteen months of age and is by far the smartest horse I have had the privilege to own. Shandor of Orcas Island. Now you know why we are so excited!
